Governor Roles and Responsibilities
The Chair of Governors is appointed by the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust (DEMAT).
All other members of the Local Governing Body are appointed by the Chair of Governors after consultation with the LGB and the Headteacher. The composition of governors is a mixture of staff, parent and community governors as described in the Trust’s scheme of delegation. The scheme also requires the membership of an incumbent or representative as approved by the Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry in which the school is situated. In this case the Archdeaconry of Wisbech and Huntingdon.
The following table describes the roles and responsibilities of the LGB.
Mrs Elaine Fisher
Chair/ H & S
I was employed in local government from leaving school but went into teaching when my children were small. I gained a BSc Degree and taught Business Studies at secondary school level and in further education. After retiring as Assistant Director of Education at a Sixth Form College I worked for Cambridgeshire County Council with a variety of governing bodies. Since leaving Cambridgeshire County Council I have functioned as Clerk to Governors in a number of schools in the Wisbech area.
I am on the Board of Trustees of a National Charity which meets in London; and a Trustee and Secretary of a charity which promotes, health, education and community in an area of Uganda called Lumpewe. I used to play volleyball; am Vice Chair of a football club and have several wonderful grandchildren.
Mrs Karen Crawley
Community governor for Safeguarding/SCR
I am married with three children and two grandchildren, one of whom is now a pupil at St Peters. I have worked in education all of my life, firstly as a teacher and finally as a Headteacher until I retired in April and I am delighted to now be a Governor. As someone who was born and has lived in Wisbech all of my life I care passionately about wanting the best education and opportunities possible for children in this area. My areas of responsibility within the Governing Body are Safeguarding and, with all governors, Standards.
Miss Amy Harvey
I have been at St. Peter's since Sept 2018. I am absolutely passionate about the education we provide for our children and my staff equally work as a team to give the best they can for our school.
I have three sons who I am extremely proud of and a crazy Norfolk Terrier called Dotty!
I have been an educator for over 22 years and really can't imagine doing anything else.
I am proud of the work we do at St. Peter's. We use a therapeutic approach to how our children are supported, and I believe it is the only way we can prepare our children for learning. #teamstpeters
Mrs Nicola Houghton

I am the School Business Manager here at St Peter's which means I oversee the the Finance, HR, Premises, Health & Safety and Administration at our school. I am also one of the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads. I support people in a wide range of roles both at our school and in the community. I am passionate about raising aspirations and making a positive difference to people's lives. I volunteer extensively within the community to fund-raise and initiate strategies which address the needs of those disadvantaged by their circumstances. I have a track record of successfully leading projects and I am determined to help others improve their life chances and reach their potential. As a trustee for the Young People's Counselling Service, my strengths not only lie in school business management, but also in bringing people together and connecting local services to improve access for our whole school community. I am also Vice Chair of Wisbech Ladies Circle and am the Governor with responsibility for Community Cohesion.

I took on the role of St Peter's Parent Governor as I wish to help this lovely school become the very best it can be.
I was a pupil here myself many years ago, my now teenage daughters both came to this school and my son is currently a pupil. I often volunteer in school - the staff and children are an amazing bunch to be around!
I'm an F1 fanatic, never missing a race and also a Spurs supporter. I love a craft project, Star Wars, and anything that makes me laugh but I am happiest when I'm with my kids, my husband and our golden labrador, Kevin!
Mr James Crawley
Parent governor for Sports Premium, Standards and Behaviour
I have worked in Secondary education for the last 11 years. I have had a number of different roles which includes Gifted and talented co-ordinator, Head of Physical Education and my most recent role as Assistant Principal responsible for Well being and Aspirations. I currently have a son in year 4. My responsibilities as a Governor are two areas which have always been top of my priorities whilst in education, these are standards and effective use of the sports premium.
Rev Allan Landall
Incumbent and link governor for SIAMS
Reverend Allan is the parish vicar of All Saints Walsoken, the parish in which the school sits. He supports the school by leading assemblies a few times a term, holding services at the Church which the children attend and hosting learning opportunities for the children.
He is responsible for SIAMS on the governing body.
